Deluxe Event Audio Kit

For banquets, AGMs, weddings and fundraisers up to about 150 people. Two QSC speakers, two wireless handheld mics, and a mixer so the mics and your music run together.

Yorkville 1000W for speeches and presentations
A 12-inch powered speaker with a mic input on the back, so one mic plugs straight in with no mixer. It weighs 17 kg.
QSC 2000W when the room is louder
More headroom than the Yorkville for music, a dance floor or a noisy hall, with a compression driver that keeps voices clear. It has no Bluetooth, so bring music in through a mixer or the adapter in the Deluxe kit.
Braven BRV-XXL where there is no power
A battery speaker that plays up to 15 hours on a charge and is rated IPX5 against splashes. It suits background music and small groups at a park or backyard, not a speech to a crowd.
Wireless or wired mics
Wireless handhelds let a speaker walk the room or pass the mic for a toast. A wired SM58 costs less and never needs batteries.
Before you book
What our PA systems won't do
Better you hear it now than at sound check.
- No subwoofers. Speeches and background music sound full. A DJ set or a live band will sound thin.
- Sized for indoor rooms. Outdoors, sound spreads out, so plan on more speakers than the headcount guide suggests.
- They need an outlet. Each Yorkville and QSC needs a standard outlet within reach of its 25 ft cord. Only the Braven runs on battery.
- Over 500 people, or a show with live music, is a production job. Our partner Dream It Creations supplies, sets up and runs the full AV.

Reserve your dates
Pick your dates on our rental site and check out. Nothing is charged until pickup. Orders with $5,000 or more of gear need a security hold on your card, and a deposit only if the card can’t take it.
Pick up in Port Kells
Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, at Unit 3, 19089 94th Avenue in Surrey. Bring government photo ID, such as a BC driver's licence or BCID. First-time renters sign our rental agreement at the counter.
Bring it back
Return on the date you booked. We're closed weekends, so a Friday pickup with a Monday return is billed as a single day.
How much does it cost to rent a speaker?
A Yorkville 1000W powered speaker is $22 a day and a QSC 2000W is $25. Kits with wireless mics, stands and cables are $110 for two speakers and $120 for four. For a projector and screen as well, the presentation packages start at $100.
Longer rentals cost less per day, and your booking page shows the exact price for your dates.
How many speakers do I need?
For speeches and presentations: one speaker for up to 50 people, two for 50 to 150, and four for 150 to 500. Past 300 people, four speakers carry speech but not music. Outdoors, sound spreads out, so plan on more than the headcount suggests.
Can I play music from my phone?
Yes. The Braven speaker pairs over Bluetooth on its own. The Deluxe kit and the QSC presentation package include a Bluetooth audio adapter. The QSC speaker has no Bluetooth by itself.
Do the speakers need power?
The Yorkville and QSC speakers plug into a standard outlet, and each comes with a 25 ft power cord. Where there is no power at all, the battery-powered Braven plays up to 15 hours.
Is it loud enough for a DJ or a live band?
Not really. We don't carry subwoofers, so dance music and live bands sound thin on our speakers. For a show, Dream It Creations brings a full PA and runs it.
Do I need a mixer?
Not for one mic into one speaker. For two or more mics, or mics plus music from a laptop, yes. The Behringer X1204USB is $6 a day, and the Deluxe kit includes one.
Can I rent a PA system for the weekend?
Yes. We are closed Saturday and Sunday, so pick up on Friday and return on Monday and you pay the one-day rate.
Do you deliver or set it up?
We deliver anywhere in Metro Vancouver by request, for an extra fee and subject to approval. For setup and a technician on the day, book Dream It Creations.
