How far back can your audience sit?
A common AV rule of thumb keeps the back row within about six times the image height. On the 80-inch screen that is roughly 6 metres, which suits a boardroom, classroom or small hall. For a bigger room, project onto a large light wall and dim the lights.
Setup steps in the Epson 1288 guide
Connect
Get your laptop on screen the first time
A missing adapter is the fastest way to lose the first ten minutes of a presentation, so add the one you need to the same order. Wireless mirroring uses Miracast, which works with most Windows laptops and Android phones but not with Macs or iPhones, so bring those in over HDMI.
Add-ons
Add sound, microphones and a backdrop
Build out the rest of the room from the same shelf. See everything for events on our AV equipment rentals in Surrey page.

How much does it cost to rent a projector in Surrey?
The Epson PowerLite 1288 is $55 a day. The 80-inch screen adds $25 and the stand $5, so projector, screen and stand come to $85. The Event Presentation Package, which adds a speaker, microphone and presenter remote, is $100 a day.
Longer rentals cost less per day, and a Friday pickup with a Monday return is billed as one day.
Is 4,000 lumens bright enough with the lights on?
For a meeting room, classroom or hall at the 80-inch size, yes. The 1288 is built for lit rooms. If you project a much bigger image onto a wall, or the room gets direct sun, dim the lights nearest the screen.
Will it work with my Mac or a USB-C laptop?
Yes, over HDMI. If your laptop only has USB-C ports, add the USB-C hub with HDMI for $2 a day. Wireless mirroring uses Miracast, which works with most Windows laptops and Android phones but not with Macs or iPhones, so plan on the cable.
Can I use it outdoors for a movie night?
Yes, once it is dark. The pull-up screen stands on any flat surface. You will need power within reach of the projector and speaker, and everything has to stay dry.
How do I set it up?
Place the projector level, plug in power and HDMI, open the lens cover, switch it on and adjust focus and zoom. Our Epson PowerLite 1288 guide walks through it step by step.
Do you deliver?
Yes, by request and for an extra fee, anywhere in Metro Vancouver, subject to approval. Ask when you book.
